A diamond is one of the most sought after gemstones.They say a diamonds complex characteristics cannot be duplicated. Each stone is unique in it’s own way. A diamond is one of the hardest substances known to man making it resistant to deterioration. Unlike most electrical insulators, the diamond is a great conductor of heat. Well ladies and Gentleman, let’s talk about our diamond in the desert JD Groff.
In an era where Slot Wide Recievers in high school football sometimes lack measurables, that is not the case here! JD Groff has a huge D-1 Wide Receiver frame and is ready to compete at the highest level. Coming in at just over 6’2’’ and 170 pounds, this class of 2021 Sandra Day O’Connor multi-sport athlete is going to make a name for himself entering his senior season even more so than he already has.
After a great Junior campaign, which totaled 23 catches for 424 yards and 6 touchdowns, many think this is just a fraction of the numbers that JD can put up if utilized properly. With 2021 QB Seth Felts and newly acquired 2022 QB Dallas Kuenzi from Centennial, JD should most likely be the prime target for both Quarterbacks.
JD is not only a big time Wide Receiver but is changing the game as he excels in Track and Field as well. After speaking with JD about his upcoming Track Season, he stressed that the sky is the limit as he plans on competing in not only both the high jump and long jump but in addition to that, competing in the 100, 200 & 400.
Speaking to several coaches that competed against JD this year within his region, they stressed that when coming up with a defensive game plan to stop the O’Connor passing attack, matching up with the length, versatility and speed of JD Groff was usually the first thing they tried to address.
JD’s recruiting is increasing at a rapid rate to include schools in both the Pioneer and the Patriot Leagues. Not to mention, several coaches from the Ivy League have recently reached out and gotten JD on their radar.
