My Recruits Report - 11.20.2020
As our My Recruits Players are getting closer to the end of the season and the playoffs, their domination on the field is not going unnoticed! Coach Perrone and the rest of the My Recruits Staff want to spotlight several players last week who stood out.
Several Quarterbacks continued on with a great statistical effort and some newcomers hit the board for the first time. D1 prospect from Casa Grande, Angel Flores (114 YDS - 3 TDS) has his team ready to make a run in the playoffs. Liberty’s Brock Mast(248 YDS - 3 TDS) has his team ready to make a run for the Open 8. Gilbert’s Gavin Goulette (200YDS, 1 TD) continues to prove what a talent he is behind Center. A few other QBs that caught our eye this week were Centennial Senior Josh Gasca (200YDS - 1 TD), 2023 Cactus QB, Chase Jasinski (187YDS - 2 TDS) and shadow Ridge All-Region Junior Seth Gallardo (193YDS - 3TDS - 100 YDS Rushing). An amazing group of flame throwers for sure!!!
Three Running Backs who caught our eye this week were River Valley’s Zach Hammett (130 YDS - 3 TDS), Lake Havasu’s Isaac Stopke (160 YDS - 2 TDS) and Central High School’s Zion Holliman (100 YDS Rushing). The My Recruits Pass Catchers also had a stand-out week, as the Basha High School Duo of Carson Bachmann and Trent Pennington combined for close to 200 YDS Receiving and 2 TDS. Sandra Day O’ Connor Senior JD Groff (100 YDS - 2 TDS) continues to turn heads and Central High Schools Big Play WR Carter Allen (7 REC - 140 YDS - 1 TD) continues to dhow he is a D1 Prospect.
We often do not get to highlight Special Teams Players but Sunrise Mountain Junior Easton Black (6 Touchbacks - 4-4 PAT - 2 FGS) is establishing himself as one of the best in the state.
An amazing effort on the Defensive side of the ball was turned in last week by My Recruits Players. Verrado Safety, Cam Coronado (14 TOT) and Linebacker Justice Sosnicki (13 TOT - 1 Sack) played excellent in a losing effort for Verrado. Sandra Day O’Connor Linebackers Blake Ware (6 TOT - 1 Fumble Recovery) and Brandon Craddock (12 TOT - 2 TFL) held their opponent to under 100 YDS of Offense. Another Defensive duo that teamed up for a great performance were 2023 DE Christian Aguilar (5 TOT - 3 TFL) and 2021 DL Derek Torres (5 TOT - 1 TFL - 1 Sack) as Mountain Ridge lost a close one to Shadow Ridge. A few other defenders that caught our eye last week were Lake Havasu’s Jon Justice (6 TOT - 1 Sack), Centennial’s DJ Gleash (7 TOT - 1 Sack), Cactus DL Vincent Burgo (4 TOT - 1 TFL - 1 Sack) and Stanford commit Anthony Franklin from Pinnacle who had 5 TOT - 2 TFL - 1 Sack and a blocked punt. Making the My Recruits Report for the first time is 2023 Line Backer for Millennium High School, Cole Marszelak (10 TOT - 1 Caused Fumble).
Every week My Recruits identifies exceptional performances for our Players of the Week. This week Basha DB Cayden Camacho turned in an amazing performance for the Basha Bears to be our Defensive Player of the Week. And the performance turned in by 2023 Holbrook QB Marcus Oberriter was nothing short of sensational Oberriter threw for 120 YDS and ran for 209 YDS and 2 TDS while chipping in on Defense with 7 Tackles and a Sack. With this honor both players are eligible for the My Recruits Scholarship.
