With so many of our Athletes standing out this season, not only in Arizona but around the country, we decided to put out a weekly report which will talk about stats and highlights every week of a few selected My Recruits Players.

With that being said, let’s kick it off with a classic match-up in Arizona. A “Rematch”  with Campo Verde traveling to Williams Field High School. There are several My Recruits Players on both Rosters. Highlighted by Senior RB Caden Calloway who rushed for 1700 yards last season. Caden battled for 3 quarters, carrying the ball 26 times for 106 yards trying to keep Campo in the game but Williams Field had too much in the likes of 2023 QB CJ Tiller (10/15, 150 YDS 3TDS 1 Rushing TD) and 2021 player of the Game, Aaron Wolfcale Holsten (6 Tackles 3 Sacks) as Williams Field came away with the W 18-8.

Other My Recruits Players that stood out Friday Night on the Offensive side of the ball were 2022 Mesa Mountain View QB, Willy Roberts (13/22, 245 YDS 2 TDs) and Notre Dame Prep QB Tyler Schweigert (12/17, 126 YDS 3 TDs). One player who really stood out was 2023 elite QB Brendan Anderson who threw for 300 YRDs and 5 TDs and rushed for another in his 1st Varsity Start. Several other impressive stat lines from Quarterbacks were Liberty’s Brock Mast (12/21, 136 YDS 1 TD) and Red Mountain’s Evan Svoboda (9/11 140 YDS 1 TD and 50 YDS Rushing). One more Senior QB who did not even get the Start but was astonishing was Sandra Day O’Connor’s Seth Felts. Felts came off the bench to go 9/19 118 YDS and 4 TDS plus 54 YRDS Rushing and 2 more scores. Do not expect him to be on the bench for long.

Blue Ridge High School POY PJ London had one of the more impressive performances in the State of Arizona going 14/18, 221 YDS 1 TD with 102 YDS Rushing and 3 TDs. A few more players worth mentioning at the QB position were Fountain Hills High School’s Shane Davenport (9/20 130 YDS 3 TDs) and 2022 D-1 Prospect from Casa Grande High School Angel Flores (10/18, 114 YDS with 142 YDS Rushing and 2 TDS). Another 2023 QB that broke onto the scene was Millennium High School QB Derek Berry who was an impressive 17/25 for 225 YDS. Last but not least Pennsylvania QB Lek Powell has Bishop McDevitt High School 2-0 with over 500 Passing Yards and 6TD’s in 2 games.

Enough about the QB’s… Let’s talk about some of the work horses that got the job done at Running Back this week! Paradise Valley’s Kevin Jue carried 9 times for 91 YDS and looked good in a losing effort on Friday night. A very impressive effort was turned in by 2023 Shadow Ridge RB Anthony Garcia. Garcia had 12 Carries for 111 YDS and 1 TD. One more 2023 RB who caught Coaches attention this past weekend was Desert Edge’s Christopher Cordero who just about reached the 100 yard mark with two scores.

There were a few Wide Receivers that stood out for My Recruits starting with the newcomer to the Mesquite Offense, Central Transfer, Eric Lira who had 2 catches for 62 YDS… both going for Touch Downs! Basha’s Trent Pennington checked in 4 catches for 64 YDS and TD. Another My Recruits Receiver that is not only turning heads on the field but in Recruiting out of Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville, GA is 6’0 180lb LaMarcus Brand who had 10 catches for 145 YDS, 1 TD and a total of 265 all-purpose yards. BUT nobody impressed more than 2023 phenom Deric English from Glendale AZ’s Mountain Ridge High School. The Sophomore who is starting to gather Division 1 offers had 4 catches for 100 yards, 3 of which went for touchdowns.

2022 3-Star Safety Jax Stam

On the Defensive side of the ball, several performances stood out. D-1 Recruit DJ Gleash had a tough task against and experienced Hamilton Offensive Line but Gleash still managed 12 TOT and 1 Sack. The Liberty Lions, Defending 6A Champs from Peoria AZ, ran into a power packed Chandler High School team and did not fair too well. However, 2022 3-Star Safety Jax Stam, managed 14 TOT, 2 TFL and was all over the field as was 2021 Safety Shane Pitts (11TOT). Another pair of underclassman who turned heads were two Linebackers out of Sandra Day O’Connor in Phoenix, AZ. They were 2023 Freshman of the Year Blake Ware (7 TOT, and a caused Fumble) and 2022 Middle Linebacker Brandon Craddock (12 TOT, 1 TFL). Craddock is getting the attention of several D-1 Schools including all of the Ivy’s.

Here are a few more players that definitely got it done defensively: Lake Havasu’s 6’4 DE Jon Justice looked great in his first start in a year with 6 TOT and 1 Sack. Another great effort turned in was by Casa Grande’s Jacob Thomas (12 TOT and 1 Sack) vs a tough Sal Pointe Catholic Team. Deer Valley DB Jaden Stewart had 4 TOT, 1 FF which he returned for a 98 yard touchdown. Desert Edge’s Max Garcia looked great on the Defensive Line with 5 TOT and a Sack for a stacked Scorpion defense. Both My Recruits Kickers, 2022 Ryan Eckley (Newsome High School Tampa, FL) had an 80% Touchback Ratio and Pinnacle High School’s Max Miller kicked off 9 times with 8 of them traveling out of the end zone. The two definitely showed that they are the best in their class.

As you can see, these were a few of the great performances turned in by My Recruits Athletes but now it is time to honor our My Recruits Co-Players of the Week! Starting with the Record Breaking Performance of Valley Vista High School’s Burt Delay. Delay was 16/22 for 421 Yards and 6 Touchdowns, a Valley Vista School Record.
